On March 3, 2009, SPRIE Co-Director William F. Miller attended the opening ceremony for the William F. Miller School of Management of Technology at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea. 

Accompanying Dr. Miller on this milestone event were Philip H. Knight Professor and Dean Robert L. Joss, Special Assistant to the President for Federal Research Policy at Stanford University Arthur Bienenstock, and SPRIE Visiting Scholar Robert Eberhart.

Dean Joss was also awarded an honorary doctorate from Konkuk during the opening ceremony.

The Miller School begins its inaugural classes on March 4, 2009.
